Anterolateral system

Conveys pain, temperature and crude touch. Crosses over immediately as it enters the spinal cord.

Medial Lemniscus

This pathway carries fine touch, proprioception and vibration. Receptors such as Pacinian Corpuscles generate an action potential, which travels up the spine before decussating (crossing over) at the sensory decussation in the brainstem.
